Michael Ryan, Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Program, said the COVID-19 situation in the Americas, Brazil in particular, is difficult and could go into a spiral.

“The situation may spiral.

The situation is difficult.

But in this case, it is not a new variant (strain) that drives the transmission of the virus.

The new strain may have an impact, but it's too easy to blame the virus.

Unfortunately, what we didn’t do led to this, ”RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to him, the countries of Latin America and Brazil should step up their efforts to combat the virus.

Earlier it was reported that more than 67 thousand cases of coronavirus were detected in Brazil.
