Colombia bans crossing land borders until March 1

The Colombian authorities have extended the closure of land and river borders until March 1 in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus.


"In accordance with the provisions of Decree 039 of January 14, 2021, all land and river border crossing points of the country will remain closed until March 1," RIA Novosti reports a message from the Colombian migration service.

The decree extends to the borders with Panama, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and Venezuela.

The ban does not apply to unforeseen and force majeure events, the carriage of goods and goods.
