The US Capitol building was damaged during the riots that took place there. The day before, supporters of the incumbent President Donald Trump managed to break through the police cordon and burst into the Senate Hall, where the results of the presidential elections were being approved. As a result, windows, doors and furniture were broken in the building. Police officers are stationed around the Capitol.
