EC downgraded forecast of global economic recession in 2020

The European Commission has worsened the forecast for the global economic recession due to the coronavirus pandemic in 2020 to 3.8%, TASS reports.


The EC also lowered its expectations for economic recovery in 2021 to 4.7%.

In the spring forecast for the development of the world economy, the EC expected a decline of 2.9% in 2020 and a subsequent recovery in 2021 of 5%.

The EC predicts that oil prices will remain in the range from $ 42.6 to $ 46.4 per barrel in 2020–2022.

Earlier, the official representative of the European Commission, Eric Mamer, spoke about the information that a number of Islamic countries announced their intention to boycott French products.
