The text says that the United States "facilitated tense negotiations between the foreign ministers and the co-chairs of the Minsk Group (OSCE) so that Armenia and Azerbaijan come closer to a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict."
Earlier, American leader Donald Trump said that good progress had been made in the negotiations on Nagorno-Karabakh.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo at meetings with Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia Jeyhun Bayramov and Zohrab Mnatsakanyan called on the parties to end the violence.
