UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said that the situation in Belarus can be resolved only by the Belarusians themselves through dialogue. This was stated by the official representative of the UN Secretary General Stephane Dujarrick.

“The Secretary General emphasizes that the current crisis can only be resolved by the Belarusian people through a wide-ranging inclusive dialogue, which should begin immediately in the interests of stabilizing the situation,” Dujarrik said in his statement.

It is specified that Guterres is extremely concerned about "the use of force against peaceful protesters and the detention of people."

Earlier, the former candidate for the post of Belarusian President Svetlana Tikhanovskaya asked the UN to send an observer mission to Belarus.
