The European Union will offer assistance to the Belarusian authorities in establishing a dialogue with the opposition and citizens. This was announced by the EU Foreign Ministers following the meeting via videoconference.

“The European Union will submit to the Belarusian authorities a proposal for support in establishing and facilitating a dialogue between the political authorities, the opposition and society as a whole in order to resolve the current crisis,” the statement says.

In addition, the ministers agreed on the need for sanctions against "those guilty of violence, repression and falsification of election results."

Earlier, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, said that the European Union does not accept the results of the elections in Belarus.
