Meet Kattis - the first cat to climb Kebnekaise

Only eight months young and an indoor cat in Hägersten - that did not stop Kattis from becoming the first cat to climb Sweden's highest mountain, Kebnekaise. But on the trip she got some support from her master and mistress. - She was cruel, cooler than we were, says Erick Johansson, master of Kattis.

It was earlier in July that Sanna Widell and Erick Johansson took Kattis on a two-week cycling and hiking holiday around Norrland, which ended in Nikkaluokta at the foot of Kebnekaise.

But that Kattis would actually be allowed to follow all the way to the top was not obvious - but the decision was made the night before.

- Her needs went before our own. We were prepared to turn around if it did not feel okay, says Sanna Widell, Kattis' mother.
