Aircraft worth billions parked in the Arizona desert

SVT's US correspondent Stefan Åsberg has traveled to Phoenix, Arizona. Under normal conditions, the city's international airport lands almost one plane a minute. Now 95 percent of air traffic is gone. But at an airport car park nearby, you hire staff.


The situation among the world's airlines is desperate and more and more airlines are now parking large parts of their fleet. The industry expects a lift in the summer, with eased travel restrictions, but more than 90 percent of the routes have been withdrawn.

At an airfield outside Phoenix, Arizona, there are 400 aircraft waiting for eased travel restrictions.
