An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 recorded off the coast of Kamchatka

An earthquake of magnitude 3.6 was recorded on the territory of the Ust-Bolsheretsky district of the Kamchatka Territory. This was reported in the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).


“The seismic event occurred on Sunday at 15:02 local time (6:02 Moscow time - RT ). Its focus lies at a depth of 288 km. The epicenter was located on land 54 km north-east of the village of Ust-Bolsheretsk, ”Interfax quoted the statement as saying.

The regional department of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said that there were no casualties and damage as a result of the emergency.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.1 was previously reported in the Kronotsky Gulf off the eastern coast of Kamchatka.
