Turkish leagues end - the season over for several Swedish stars

Previously, the seasons were only paused for the basketball and volleyball players in Turkey. But now they are completely shut down. Thus it is played for Isabelle Haak and Frida Eldebrink, among others.

The Turkish basketball and volleyball seasons were canceled in March, due to the spread of the corona virus.

Now the Turkish basketball and volleyball associations have decided to end the seasons.

"It is the best decision for basketball sports," says the basketball union chairman Hidayet Turkolgu, according to the AP News Agency.

Several players in Turkey

Neither the basketball nor the volleyball association designate a champion for this season.

"Since the team did not enter the playoffs, we will not appoint any team as champion," says Volleyball Association chairman Mehmet Akif Ustundag, according to the Reuters news agency.

Several Swedish sports stars played in Turkey this past season, including volleyball player Isabelle Haak and basketball players Frida Eldebrink and Amanda Zahui.
