5/7/2020, 7:06:21 AM

The Bank of England during the meeting on May 6 decided to maintain the key rate at 0.1%.

This is stated on the website of the regulator.

“The spread of the coronavirus COVID-19 and the measures taken to combat it have a significant impact on the UK and many other countries. Economic activity has fallen sharply since the beginning of the year, and unemployment has increased substantially, ”the statement emphasizes.

It is noted that the next meeting of the Bank of England on the key rate is scheduled for June 18.
