Phil Neville leaves the post of English League Captain. On the website of the English Football Association it is written that Neville will be leaving in July 2021. Thus it could be that there will be a new British coach at the Olympics next summer. - We will now discuss the next step, says FA Women's Soccer Manager Sue Campbell.

SVT Sport reported earlier this week that England's league captain Phil Neville was about to leave the job as English league captain.

Today, a confirmation from the English Football Association (FA) came about how things are. Then the union announced that Neville will leave his job in July 2021.

"When football returns after this difficult time, Phil will continue to work with the Lions on the squad's continued development," says Sue Campbell.

England four in the World Cup

There will thus be a new English national team captain at home-European Championship 2022. Who will lead the British team in the Olympics next summer is unclear. The tournament will be played on July 21-August 6.

- We will discuss the next step with the British Olympic Committee and the nations that are part of the British team and cannot provide any further comments at present, says Campbell.

England finished fourth in last summer's European Championships, but have lost seven of their eleven recent matches.
