The Czech government approved the extension of the state of emergency in the country until May 25. This was announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and head of the central crisis headquarters Jan Gamachek.


“The government decided to continue the state of emergency until May 25 and requested that it be approved by the parliament of the republic,” he said at a briefing, RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to the agency, the state of emergency was introduced in the country on March 12, after which it was extended until April 30.

In March, China delivered 5 million masks and 2 million respirators to the Czech Republic by air to combat the spread of coronavirus infection.
