IFK Gothenburg is the next club to take action in the suites of the corona crisis. The club is forced to lay off players and dismiss staff. - Forecasts and cuts are a reality that many companies and organizations are unfortunately facing, writes club director Max Markusson at IFK Gothenburg's website.

From April 1, the layoffs apply to IFK Gothenburg players, but also to other staff as a result of the financial difficulties in the corona crisis.

- We have therefore decided on a number of measures that unfortunately mean the dismissal of esteemed and competent colleagues, writes Max Markusson.

Markusson writes that the club writes that the layoffs and layoffs are part of getting through the most acute financial situation with the goal of being ready for any cup and all-Swedish start later this spring.

- Everyone in and around IFK Gothenburg knows how tough the reality is right now. We also know what is required of us as individuals in this situation. For us it is a matter of course to do what we can to contribute, says player Robin Söder to the club's website.
