The Professional Football League (LFP) will meet an exceptional Board of Directors on Friday, while the majority of clubs hope that the weekend's Ligue 1 day, supposed to be played behind closed doors, will be postponed due to the coronavirus, a have we learned Thursday from sources close to the file.

Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 matches are supposed to take place behind closed doors until April 15, according to a League decision (LFP) taken on Tuesday in accordance with government instructions banning gatherings of more than 1,000 people.

But, according to a source familiar with the matter, "by a large majority", the clubs have declared themselves in favor of postponing the matches of the championship, as is the case in Italy until April 3 and in Spain for the next two La Liga days.

According to this source, a written request was sent Thursday evening to the LFP, a few minutes after the speech of President Emmanuel Macron calling for "sacred union" in the face of the "most serious health crisis" that France has known for a century .

When questioned, the League said that an exceptional telephone board of directors of the LFP would meet Friday at 10:00 am.

Eight Ligue 2 matches are scheduled for Friday at 8 p.m., while in Ligue 1, the Lyon-Reims match is due to open on the 28th day of the championship at 8.45 p.m.
