The President of the National Medical Chamber, a pediatric surgeon Leonid Roshal, said that the percentage of medical errors in Russia is 0.8% of the total number of patients, commenting on the words of the head of the Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, that the lack of professionalism of doctors leads to complications in more than 70 thousand patients.

He noted that the figure of 70 thousand includes various non-fatal complications.

“They make up only 0.8% of all patients hospitalized in the country's hospitals,” RIA Novosti quoted RIA Novosti as saying.

The surgeon added that statistics should be improved and should not be hidden.

Earlier, Leonid Roshal assessed the situation with the spread of coronavirus.
