“The Man Who Lived in Poetry”: 75th Birth Anniversary of Georgy Taratorkin

January 11 would mark the age of 75 for theater and film actor, People's Artist of the RSFSR Georgy Taratorkin. In the Leningrad Youth Theater, he came to work as a lighter, but at the insistence of the main director Zinovy ​​Korogodsky, he began to study acting. Taratorkin gained wide fame thanks to the role of Rodion Raskolnikov in the film "Crime and Punishment" based on the novel by Dostoevsky. Later, the actor starred in more than 60 films and series, and served in the Mossovet Theater. Georgy Taratorkin was president of the award and the Golden Mask festival, taught at VGIK. The artist died on February 4, 2017 after a long illness. He is buried at the Troekurovsky cemetery in Moscow.
