The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine chose a measure of restraint to former First Deputy Prime Minister and former head of the NBU, Sergey Arbuzov in the form of detention.

This was reported by the press service of the court on its Facebook page.

“Given that the suspect is put on the international wanted list, the investigating judge chose this preventive measure in accordance with the requirements of Part 6 of Art. 193 Code of Criminal Procedure of Ukraine, ”the report said.

As clarified by "112 Ukraine", the former official is suspected of misappropriation, embezzlement of property or seizure by abuse of official position.

In June 2018, it was reported that the European Court of Justice of General Jurisdiction overturned the decision of the EU Council to freeze Arbuzov’s assets.

In January 2018, Arbuzov became a defendant in criminal cases in Ukraine and was put on the wanted list.
