Tomas Montén: "Got the feeling that he would not be ready"

Luleå's forward talent Filip Hållander was not selected to JVM due to a leg fracture earlier in the season. But this weekend he made an early comeback in SHL in the middle of the upcoming JVM playoffs in the Czech Republic.

It was in mid-September that Filip Hållander suffered a leg fracture in the away game against Örebro. When the JVM squad took out, he was also not taken out by the union captain Tomas Montén. But this weekend he was back in play when Luleå met Färjestad on away.

- We have always felt in our dialogue with Luleå that he would not be ready now. We felt we couldn't make the decision to take him out so early because then he was not running, says Junior Crown Confederate Tomas Montén to SVT Sport and continues:

Would you like to have him here right now?

- Not right now. I am very pleased.

Back earlier

Filip Hållander, who was supposed to be a key player in JVM, admits to Aftonbladet that the situation is special when he comes back earlier than expected.

- They had contact with Luleå safely and did not want to risk anything on an unsecured card. Now in retrospect, when I am back earlier than expected, it is a special situation. But I respect their decision and I like the situation, says Hållander.

Going for the team victory

Without Hållander, however, the Junior crowns got a good start at JVM. The team has three straight wins and tomorrow you can secure the team victory in the final group game against Slovakia.

- It will be a little away match-stamp on the match a bit that we can expect in a quarterfinals where you get nothing for free. It's about doing their job, says Tomas Montén

Is there anything you need to get organized?

- There are parts of the game that have been on and off in all three matches. I think today we are not really tested, but it is important to play a good defense and attack game. What we have left is to play a good match for 60 minutes.
