Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky met with the country's new ambassador to Washington, Vladimir Yelchenko, during which he announced the importance of increasing US investment in the Ukrainian economy.

This was reported in the press service of the administration of the Ukrainian president.

“The head of state emphasized the need to increase US investment in the Ukrainian economy,” the press release said.

The meeting also discussed prospects for the further development of relations between Ukraine and the United States.

On December 19, Zelensky signed a decree dismissing Yelchenko from the post of permanent representative of Ukraine to the UN and appointed him ambassador to the United States.

In September, Zelensky promised not to stand in front of the United States with outstretched hands.
