Dubai Municipality confirmed that the "Lobo" cake product will not be traded in the emirate's markets, noting that it has tight control over all products traded in the markets.
In response to a video recently circulated through the WhatsApp application, regarding food contain of unknown source cake, all municipalities in Dubai were surveyed and found to be free of this product, said the municipality’s food safety department, in response to a video recently spread through the WhatsApp application.
The municipality reported on the application of the certainty news: “We assure the public that Dubai’s market is free of cake (lobo), and that there is no evidence of the validity of these rumors circulating on the application (WhatsApp).” She added that the Food Safety Department takes control of all imported and locally traded food products. And on all food establishments, to ensure food safety and suitability for human consumption.
The Food Safety Department called on the public not to believe and circulate the rumors, and verify their authenticity from reliable official sources, and through official communication channels.
Anonymous videos, circulated via WhatsApp and YouTube, showed an unknown person extracting pills from within the "Lubo" cake product, more like a pill.
