Two-headed cobra in India raises classic philosophical question

A cobra with two heads has been noticed in the Indian city of Midnapore. Or are two cobras sharing a body? In any case, the locals have started feeding the snake with milk, in an attempt to help it survive.

It is unusual for a snake to be born with two heads, but it can happen, according to the snake expert Björn Thinning. According to zoologists in India, the two heads can be there for various possible reasons, either because of an unsuccessful embryo split or toxins in the local environment have affected the development of the snake.

With the discovery of the snake a classic philosophical question is raised, one should consider cobra as a snake with two heads or two snakes with one body.

- I think it will be an individual with two heads, who has two brains ... yes, that I let someone else answer, says chairman of the Swedish herpetological association, Björn Thinning.
