SEK 34 million - This reduced Eskilstuna's city trade by last year

The Real Estate Owners' report Cityindex shows that trade in the center of Eskilstuna decreased by 2.1 per cent last year compared to the previous year. - Eskilstuna is following the national trend with reduced sales for the grocery business, says Andreas Sjöberg, CEO of the property owners MittNord in a press release.


In total, Eskilstuna city trade had a turnover of SEK 1.55 billion, a decrease of SEK 34 million.

- The grocery trade, the restaurant industry and the hotel industry, on the other hand, are strongly moving forward, says Andreas Sjöberg.

In general, we spend more money in the city center on groceries and less on consumer goods such as consumer electronics and clothing. There, the biggest competitor is e-commerce.

- The center trade in Eskilstuna has been affected by renovations and shifts in store mix, says Andreas Sjöberg in a press release.

The report has been produced through a collaboration between the property owners and HUI Research.
