Former national team star Fredrik Petersen, 36, leaves his parent club IFK Ystad for IFK Kristianstad. Petersen had intended to end his career in Ystad, but now he changes club after the season. - I felt proud to have the opportunity to once again get the chance to play handball at a really high level, he says to the club's website.

Petersen has signed on for two seasons in Kristianstad. He has previously won the Champions League and participated in the Olympic Games.

- In Fredrik, we see a seasoned character player with fine leadership qualities. We see him primarily as mittnia where he is going to control the game, says sports manager Jesper Larsson to the club's website.

Petersen, who in addition to Ystad previously represented HK Malmö, says that precisely Larsson was a big part of the transition.

- I've always had a good relationship with Jesper Larsson. When the opportunity came up it triggered me and it feels inspiring and very cool with all the audience and the framing that is in Kristianstad Arena, he says.
