Nyamko Sabuni: "Don't think the answer is in high unemployment"

11/17/2019, 9:37:38 PM

Liberal Party leader Nyamko Sabuni does not believe that high unemployment is the answer to why Sweden stands out in the statistics when it comes to gang violence. The problem, she believes, lies in the immigrant crime. - We have very poor surveillance on our national borders. With high unemployment and poor school results, these young people are easily recruited, says Sabuni in SVT's Agenda.

Prime Minister Stefan Löfven (S) believes that the school should provide early support so that children and young people complete primary and secondary education and that high unemployment is the cause of the increasing gang violence.

Nyamko Sabuni wishes the Prime Minister to be more concrete and believes that organized crime takes over the areas most vulnerable. Those who fail at school are those who look up to the criminal gang, according to Sabuni.

- We have to be very concrete that we have to raise school results in those areas, she says.
