In September it emerged that the region of Västernorrland needed to lose primary care in the county to cope with the economy. The primary care management suggested the closure or closure of several health centers. After the dialogue meetings, the political majority has now scrapped the savings proposal.

- We, from the majority, choose not to proceed with the previously presented proposal from the administration, to make the Health Center in Stöde a branch. We share concerns expressed by the administration about the low number listed at the health center, but believe that the dialogue that has already begun with Sundsvall municipality on how we can collaborate in the future can provide further development opportunities, says Chairman of the Health and Medical Committee Lena Asplund (M) in a press release .

Demonstrations and dialogue

Concerns have been great in many places in the county and among other things, the residents of Nacksta have demonstrated to keep the health center. After dialogue meetings, it has now been concluded that what is most sought after is the childcare center and district nurse.

- In Nacksta, the dialogue has shown that there is a continued need for access to BVC (child care center) and district nurse. Therefore, we urge the administration to continue with this direction and we would also like to investigate further if it is possible to open a family center in Nacksta together with the municipality of Sundsvall. but the date is not clear yet, says Elina Backlund Arab (S).

Further dialogue meetings are planned in Nacksta, Liden and Trehörningsjö.
