A 13-year-old boy suffering from a small ear deformity caused a rare ear disease in a child's ear that was affected by a rare disease, hospital sources said on Monday.

A team of Italian surgeons has succeeded in rebuilding a child's ears affected by a rare disease using a 3D printer model, hospital sources said.

The 13-year-old boy suffered from a small deformity of the ear flint, which resulted in the absence of the outer part of the ear.

About 5% of every 10 newborns develop the disease, according to a Mayer Children's Hospital statement.
