Author Joyce Carol Oates has long been one of the favorites to win the Nobel Prize in literature. But as a new widow, honors are no longer associated with the same joy. - It would be a bit sad if I won a prize now, she says.

Tomorrow, the Swedish Academy selects two Nobel laureates in literature and author Joyce Carol Oates is once again a hot candidate. In SVT's Skavlan she tells what it would mean to win the award.

- When my parents were alive, they were as proud as parents usually are. Then my first husband was proud, then my second husband ... And now I'm alone. So if I got a prize it would be heartbreaking, because I have no one to share it with.
