Stahl to the final after some concern

Daniel Ståhl got ready for the final in the discus after throwing 67.88. It was a relieved Stahl who cheered after the throw in the second round.

In the first throw Ståhl got just over 70 meters but stepped over after not being able to stand in the ring. That put the Swede under pressure and he looked worried about his second throw, which was the way to go.

Simon Pettersson was fourth in the first qualifying group with 63.65.

- I didn't get a real hit but still nice to put 63 meters in first. It provided security and I hope it is enough, said Simon Pettersson, who would sit down at the bar with his mother and sister and look at the other qualifying group.
