He cycled from Skellefteå to Leksand: "It has been a spiritual journey"

Press officer for Skellfteå AIK, Samuel Söderlund, lost a bet. The loss resulted in a bike ride of 80 km - from Skellefteå to Leksand, to see the team meet in Skellefteå's away premiere. Today at 16, he arrived at the final destination Leksand.

Söderlund did not have to prepare as much as he wished before he left. Before the start he had about 60 miles of cycling in his legs.

It was a tough start. The first day offered rain, wind and seven degrees. Söderlund admits that he regrets his bet, but the thought of canceling the bike ride never struck him.

- There have been some frustrating moments but the thought of giving up has never struck me, he says and continues:

- It was a bit of a spiritual journey, to try myself to max.

"I'm pretty annoyed"

On September 15, he resigned and today, September 19, he arrived in Leksand.

- We reached the goal and arrived at the time we wanted. I am quite annoyed in both body and soul now. It's hard to admit that I'm actually here.

At a station in the village of Rättvik, which is near the final destination of Leksand, Söderlund met a Skellefteå supporter who was aware of his journey and praised him. Otherwise, he has only had contact with the friend who was driving beside him in the companion car.
