Scientists from the New Zealand University of Otago in a recent study tried to unravel the mystery of the famous Loch Ness monster. They analyzed the genetic material contained in samples of water from the lake. Researchers have suggested that Nessie could be giant eel - the DNA of this fish was found in large numbers in a pond. Earlier versions were put forward that the mysterious creature could be a Greenland polar shark, sturgeon, catfish and even a surviving descendant of dinosaurs.
