The head of the US Federal Reserve System (FRS), Jerome Powell, said that the US authorities intend to take all necessary steps to support the country's economy.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that the Fed puts the United States at a disadvantage in comparison with competitors.

In July, for the first time in ten years, the Fed lowered its base rate to 2–2.25% from 2.25–2.5%.
