Seven crewmen from the tanker Stena Impero have been released, UD confirmed for TT.

It was July 19 that Iran seized the Swedish-owned oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, between the Gulf of Persia and the Gulf of Oman. According to previous information, Stena Impero, which sails under the British flag, has a crew of 23 people.

None of the people come from Sweden. The company's CEO Erik HÃ¥nell has stated that the crew is from India, Russia, Latvia and the Philippines. It is unclear on Wednesday evening which of these should have been released.
