“A US soldier died during the fighting in Afghanistan on Thursday, August 29,” the mission’s press service said.
The identity of the deceased was not disclosed until the immediate relatives of the deceased were notified.
In late July, two US troops were killed in Afghanistan.
In April, four U.S. soldiers were killed and three others were injured in an explosion in Afghan Bagram.
