“My profession is called only in one word - artist”: Oleg Strizhenov - 90

During the Great Patriotic War Oleg Strizhenov worked as an assistant mechanic at the Film and Photo Institute. He drew well, so he decided to study props, but soon the passion for acting took its toll, and the young man entered the theater school. Schukin. Even as a student, he played in the theater the most diverse roles - from Petruchio in "The Taming of the Shrew" to Emelya in "Simple and Educated." In different years, Strizhenov served in the Drama Theater in Tallinn, the Leningrad Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin (now the Alexandrinsky Theater), the capital's Theater Studio, film actor and the Moscow Art Theater. The artist’s creative biography is rich in film work, the most striking of which is the role of the revolutionary Arthur Burton in the film “Gadfly”. An important place in the filmography of the actor is occupied by the tapes “Mexican”, “Forty-first”, “Unconvicted” and “White Nights”. On August 10, Oleg Strizhenov, People's Artist of the USSR, celebrates his 90th anniversary.
