Security Council meeting to be held in Kyrgyzstan on August 8

The meeting of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan will be held on August 8 in Bishkek. This was reported by the press service of the President of Kyrgyzstan.


“On August 8 in the morning ... President Sooronbai Jeenbekov will hold a meeting of the Security Council of the Kyrgyz Republic,” the report said.

On August 7, Kyrgyz law enforcement officials began an operation to detain ex-president Almazbek Atambayev at his residence in the village of Koy-Tash.

According to the latest information, 36 people were injured during the assault on Atambayev’s residence. One Special Forces officer died.

Due to the situation in Kyrgyzstan, President Sooronbai Jeenbekov interrupted his vacation and went to Bishkek.
