Two days after the assassination of the army chief of staff and several senior regional officials, the country is in shock. The government denounces a "regional coup". The main defendant, General Asaminew Tsige was killed on Monday, announced the Prime Minister's Office.
In Mauritania, all opposition candidates contest the provisional results of the presidential election. General Mohamed Ghazouani was given victory on Sunday with 52% of the votes.
