Venezuelan authorities have agreed to accept humanitarian aid from the EU

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro stated that Caracas agreed to accept humanitarian assistance from the European Union. Broadcast of his speech was conducted in Periscope.


According to him, the corresponding proposal was accepted by Venezuelan Vice President Delsi Rodriguez during her meeting with representatives of the EU.

"The Vice President held an important meeting with the EU contact group and accepted a proposal for funding of 2 billion euros in technical humanitarian assistance through the UN system," Maduro quotes RIA Novosti.

Earlier, the head of EU diplomacy Federica Mogherini said that the European Union could impose new sanctions against the Venezuelan authorities.
