Sold forged by Bestuzhev Obolensky ring

The ring, which was forged from the shackles by the Decembrists, the Bestuzhev brothers for their colleague Yevgeny Obolensky, was sold at auction for 6 million rubles.


“The starting price of the ring was 2.5 million rubles. As a result of the auction, the “kandal” ring of the Decembrist Prince Yevgeny Petrovich Obolensky was sold for 6 million rubles, ”RIA Novosti reports the 12th chair auction house.

It is noted that the rings of shackles were invented and first made by brothers Nikolai and Mikhail Bestuzhev of the shackles that were removed from the Decembrists by imperial decree of 1828.

In total, more than 20 rings were made, the main part of which is in state museums. Earlier at the auction such artifacts were not exhibited.
