Filippov graduated from the VGIK, since 1967 he worked at the film studio "Mosfilm".
He participated in the creation of such films as "The Cold Summer of the Fifty-Third ...", "The Circus Princess", "Winter Evening in Gagra", "The Brigade" and many others.
