Japanese Foreign Minister announces Abe visit to USA

Japanese Foreign Minister Taro Kono said that Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will pay an official visit to the United States in May. He said this during a briefing on the results of negotiations with the American side.


The briefing was broadcast by C-SPAN.

“Next month, Prime Minister Abe will visit the United States, and then President Donald Trump is expected to visit as the first official guest after the new emperor has passed to the throne,” the Japanese foreign minister said.

Earlier, media reported that Abe will visit the United States in late April.

It also became known that the American leader will visit Japan from May 25 to 28.
