Ambassador: since 2014, about 100 monuments to Soviet soldiers have been demolished in Poland

The Russian Ambassador in Warsaw, Sergey Andreev, said that in Poland between 2014 and the present, about 100 monuments to Soviet soldiers were demolished. It is reported RIA Novosti.


The diplomat noted that the Russian diplomatic mission has estimated data, since recently the Polish authorities are trying not to advertise the demolition of monuments.

“According to our monitoring data, it turns out that for the period from 2014 to the present, about 100 monuments were demolished,” Andreev said.

He added that in the territory of Poland there are still more than 100 monuments to Soviet soldiers.

In October, in the south-west of Poland, unknown desecrated a cemetery of Soviet soldiers.
