An originally planned for Friday, exceptional outdoor use at the International Space Station ISS is now for the time being but not concluded. For the first time, only astronauts should have participated in the mission. But now there are problems with the outer suits.

Astronaut Anne McClain realized during a repair work with her colleague Nick Hague last week that she would best fit a medium-sized space suit top, the US space agency Nasa said. Astronaut Christina Koch also needed a space suit top in medium size - of which could be made until Friday but only one operational. That's why Koch and Hague would do the outdoor use together on Friday.

Spacewalks are a challenge, but the right equipment makes the job easier! Spacesuits are the most important gear. To get the best fit, we've updated the assignments for our March 29 and April 8 spacewalks outside the @Space_Station. Get more details: https://t.co/AoXmgVqKkJ pic.twitter.com/xrCKdMgFXr

Originally, Koch and McClain were said to have left the ISS on Friday for the first women-only outreach. In the past, many space travelers have already completed field work - but there was never a women-only mission, according to Nasa.

The first woman on an outdoor assignment in 1984 was Svetlana Savitskaya. The record holds Peggy Whitson with ten field operations.
