Joe Biden will announce on Monday a sweeping set of measures to regulate the use of artificial intelligence (AI), the US presidency said, in order to limit the risks associated with the burgeoning technology. According to the White House, Biden will sign an executive order establishing new safety rules for all AI systems, and require those who develop them to share the results of their security tests with U.S. authorities.

An executive order to "protect Americans from AI-related risks"

The decree also aims to prevent the risks associated with the development of dangerous biological products by AI, and to ensure that it is not used to defraud consumers. The move is "the broadest action ever taken to protect Americans from potential risks from AI systems," the White House said in a statement.
