The Fair Trade Commission decided to impose a penalty of KRW 15.3 billion on Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, which had subcontractors worked without a contract, and file a complaint with the prosecution.
The Fair Trade Commission said that Daewoo Shipbuilding entrusted 16,000 tasks to 186 in-house subcontractors from 2015 to last year, and provided the contracts containing details such as payments, etc.
The FTC also said that Daewoo Shipbuilding has unilaterally cut the price or canceled work by entrusting additional work to subcontractors.
