A woman threatened to blow herself up on Thursday at Part-Dieu station in Lyon.

The station was evacuated, while checks and a demining operation are still underway. 

The Gare de Lyon Part-Dieu was evacuated after a woman threatened to blow herself up on Thursday early afternoon.

The suspect, who had two pieces of luggage with her, was arrested by the police.

A demining operation and checks are still ongoing, according to our information.

"Two demining teams are on site, they carry out doubts about the luggage left in the hall of the station during the evacuation," SNCF said on Twitter.

This bomb threat caused a crowd movement, according to witnesses cited by the regional daily

Heavily disrupted traffic 

Traffic was severely disrupted following this evacuation.

"TER can also be partially removed with origin and terminus Lyon Perrache. Some are completely removed," said SNCF. 

Trains going to Part-Dieu are diverted from their route by Lyon Vaise and Lyon Perrache.

TER can also be partially canceled with origin and terminus Lyon Perrache.

Some are completely deleted.

All the trains that had to go to Part-Dieu were thus diverted to other stations.
