17-year-old boy died two days after getting a flu vaccine in Incheon.

It was a free flu vaccine supplied by the company, which was controversial due to exposure to room temperature during distribution.

Authorities are investigating whether the vaccine killed him or for some other reason.

On the morning of the 16th, at about 8 o'clock in the morning, the family found a 17-year-old boy dead in Michuhall-gu, Incheon, and reported it to the police.

Two days before his death, the boy was given a free flu vaccine supplied by a controversial drug company in a local clinic for room temperature exposure.

[Jung Eun-kyung/Director of Disease Control: The product distributed by Shinsung Pharm is correct, and it has been confirmed that there is no problem in the distribution process for that product.]

It is known that this student had no chronic diseases other than allergic rhinitis.

However, it is not known exactly what condition he was in until he died after vaccination.

The National Forensic Research Institute said there were no specific findings at the first autopsy, but it would take about fifteen more days to determine whether the cause of death was a vaccine side effect or another cause.

In 2009, a 65-year-old woman was diagnosed with peripheral nerve disease after vaccination and died during treatment, so the results remain to be observed.

Severe side effects that can lead to death include anaphylaxis that appears within 4 hours of vaccination, i.e., severe shock and Guillain-Barae syndrome, a neurological disorder that appears three days after the vaccination.

To prepare for shock, stay with someone at the hospital for at least 15 minutes after getting the flu vaccine. In the case of Guillain-Barae Syndrome, you should see a doctor immediately if you experience weakness in your legs three days after vaccination.

Experts advise that you should be wary of side effects, but don't be afraid to get flu shots because of side effects concerns.
