Justice Minister Choo Mi-ae, who was acquitted by the prosecution in connection with suspicions such as extending his son's military leave, made a statement on his Facebook this morning (30th).

Minister Chu explained that it was "a case in which the national opinion was divided and the national power (public power) was exhausted through unreasonable charges and accusations with the character of a political offensive."

In an article posted on his Facebook page, Minister Chu said, "The irresponsible forces who use the informant's unilateral assertion as a tool of political dispute without any objective verification or fact confirmation must take serious responsibility." We will take action.”

He also said to the media, "Instead of discussing the facts and truths, the majority of the media that reported false claims as they were, and further reported falsehoods as true, have caused great disappointment and hurt to the people."

He added, "Even if we don't talk much, the people know. Why is the conservative opposition party and the conservative media persistently launching a political offensive targeting the Minister of Justice of the Moon Jae-in administration?"

Minister Chu concluded, "I will accomplish the reform of the prosecution and the establishment of an airlift as soon as possible to fulfill the wishes of the candlelight citizens and contribute to the success of the Moon Jae-in administration until the end."

Earlier on the 28th, the District Prosecutor for the East of Seoul imposed charges against Minister Chu, son Seo-mo, and former aides.
