Tomorrow (21st), the revocation of Gyeonggi Governor Lee Jae-myeong, who was sentenced to invalidate the election after being prosecuted under the Public Official Election Act for false disclosure of facts, was sentenced to invalidate the election in the second trial, and was revived by the Supreme Court by the court below, will be held.

The 2nd Criminal Division of the Suwon High Court is scheduled to hold the first trial date for the Destruction and Refund of the Governor at 3 pm tomorrow at the Suwon Court Complex #704 court.

Prior to this, on July 16, the Supreme Court's all-government body abolished the court case sentenced to a fine of 3 million won, which is equivalent to invalidity of the election, at the Governor's appeal on July 16 and returned the case to the Suwon Governance Act on the grounds of innocence.

Elected public officials will be invalidated if a fine of over 1 million won is confirmed for violating the Public Office Election Act.

Considering the fact that the Supreme Court judgment is legally bound, there seems to be a high possibility that the judgment of the appeals trial will be accepted as it is even in the remand of revocation.

Governor Lee was charged with instructing the head of a health center and a psychiatrist to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital in June 2012 when he was in office as the mayor of Seongnam.

He was also accused of making false remarks to the effect of ``I never tried to force my brother to be hospitalized'' at a TV debate held ahead of the 2018 local election (public official election law).

The first trial judged all of these charges as innocent, but the second trial considered guilty of alleging false disclosures and sentenced them to a fine of 3 million won, invalid for the election.

However, in an appeal in July, the Supreme Court decided that "the Governor's remarks at the debate correspond to the answer or clarification of the other candidate's suspicion, and the words spoken in this process do not correspond to the act of promulgating false facts."
